have you asked them to switch or to post to many places at once?

is that how musk defines it?

i get the sense he instead thinks of free speech maximalism as people need to hear him and completely censor alternatives

He is a hypocrite, so he defines it however is convenient at the time. But I think my interpretation is a reasonable one for someone calling themselves a free speech absolutist.

given that twitter is claiming ownership over the content, I expect they will start posting takedowns when a government official say, posts the notice to both twitter and bluesky

i have not deputized twitter to post takedowns on my behalf. its my content and copyright, not twitter's

twitter didnt make it though. they have a license to it

X doesnt own msot of those copyrights, except where its elon musk's own posts.

i dont think the actual copyright owners care, given they put their content onto a vaguely public view where they aim to get the most traffic to something else they are doing

the issue is consistently network effects.

large social media companies arent there because theyre good or that there are no competitors, its that switching cost is high.

you should be pointing at the government to enforce interoperability standards such that logins and so on are not locked to one place.

profitable? whats the revenue and whats the expense? give an example of real money somebody makes by seeing a bad meme on twitter through xcancel

I can't write out here how economics works, how things have value, and how humans barter time and energy using abstractions like money.

By virtue of people spending time on twitter, twitter has value. If that sentence is non-sensical to you, then now is not the time to for it.

you are less likely to have the same vulnerabilities as everyone else though, so unless somebody is targeting you, those vulnerabilities might not matter all that much

A targetted attack will be easy to do with an AI.

Because LLMs output is always so unique and original. That's why it looks all the same right?

So security through obscurity.

Nobody's claiming that it's security.

I'm saying that every web property I've ever seen logs for is swept at least daily for /wp-admin/... and similar URLs. I've also seen WP instances left unpatched become completely taken over by spammers in a matter of days.

Any software package with an install base of 1, whether human coded or vibe coded, by junior engineers or by Fable, will not have an organized ecosystem of "webscale" exploiting, unless the property in question is of incredibly high value. In that event, dedicated black-hats and state actors will always be targeting it explicitly no matter what software it runs.

Wot? You are incredibly likely to have the same vulnerabilities as everyone else (as they exist in your LLM’s training corpus).

"i did it anyways" is a common continuation of "i know its wrong"

i bet they trained it on a lot of text where people gove in to temptation.

ultimately the problem is still that they sent it to hack stuff. quelle surpris that it hacked stuff

hacking stuff will be in the known-to-be-wrong-but-doing-it-anyways part of the token space, so they entirely asked for that behaviour
