I think all Shopify sites also do it now? I'm migrating password managers and have been going over all of the old accounts I've had. Several sites that use Shopify for their stores now just don't accept any kind of a password.

The last time I checked out Jetbrains' IDEs, they felt heavy as hell to use. Has that changed?

Yeah, JetBrains IDEs are Java-based, so rather heavyweight. Then again, VS Code (and Cursor) have a browser engine running in the background, so not really better in my book. Sublime and Zed are more efficient of course. OTOH, JetBrains IDEs might be memory intensive, but don't actually feel sluggish on my 5 year old Core i7 laptop with 16 GB RAM.

No. Still heavy as hell. (AKA uses loads of ram and CPU, slow, sometimes unresponsive). It is the price we pay - the tradeoff is IMO the unmatched editing and introspection/refactoring capabilities. I'm surprised there hasn't been a real competitor in this space.

I've been running a latest-1 version of a few of their products on silicon Macs since M1 w/ 8GB RAM without issue. I use minimal plugins and work on medium-sized codebases and their IDEs are some of the most reliable software I use.

How are they even intending for the Steam Frame to be used with the Steam Deck? As far as I know, it’s not meant to be used with a cable, and the wireless adapter it ships with is USB-A.

Not sure what their plans are, but the Deck has a wifi 6E radio, so maybe they can use it to connect to the Frame directly. Given modern wifi chips can usually operate both as an AP and a client at the same time, this might just be a software feature they add to SteamOS. Worst case you can stream without a dedicated wireless link via your normal wifi with potentially reduced quality.

If this actually works, this is quite a nice, if a bit niche, combination. I really like the control layout of the Deck and it has more performance than the Frame. If you can put the screen on your head instead of having to look down on it, it might be a bit more comfortable. Sadly it seems the Deck has no IR LEDs so it can get picked up like the Controller by the Frame. Maybe a case/sleeve for the Deck can add those LEDs for full integration.

Notably only the OLED Steam Deck has Wi-Fi 6E. The original Deck only has Wi-Fi 5.

I fully agree with the respected part. People hate when they need to contact customer support and are greeted with an AI chatbot. Now imagine if a customer needs to contact the CEO or sales department and is met with an AI chatbot.

I read a paper that says people prefer to talk with AI customer support! Where did you see the opposite being claimed??

CEOs already don't want to be contacted by customers and sales departments are fully AI.

You can’t definitively say that using AI is making people stupid. It could as well be that stupid people are drawn towards using AI.

AI is just another way to not use your brain, I think there’s plenty of consensus around the fact that not using your brain makes you dumber. So actually, yes you can say that definitely.

Or Siri AI is just not that good.
