firefox still support ublock origins

I was very narrowly asking about the "Awesome Bar", the example the GP comment mentioned as being better than Chrome.

He calls for a tax on tokens.

Tax and regulation is how you pull the ladder up behind yourself, so... naturally Gates is in favor of this.

Yeah, he called for a tax on "job eliminating" robots too.

Neither are in the slightest bit practical to implement and he knows it. He's just grandstanding while talking his book.

Token tax is fairly straightforward to implement on the American AI companies. The international aspects of it are a lot more complicated.

it's not straightforward at all. the AI companies would just redefine what a token is to miminize their tax bill.

or, relocate abroad.

Bill Gates' wealth would be nice and easy to tax though and would provide many of the same rewards he purported to want from an AI or robot tax.

quaint?

I don't think we're going to make it.

That's one way it could go but it doesn't have to. The NRC guy walking into a comtrol room is not anybody's friend.

Maybe we do

How is this theory taken seriously when people have other motivators to buy durable goods early even when they know for certain the price will go down but not when?

the theory is about the asking prices charged by the producer, not the purchases made by consumers. After the people you are talking about buy, for whatever reason, what does the price do in the following months.

Why do gamers need protection? Games aren't essential resources. There's zero reason you have to buy a game that doesn't allow users to run servers. Why would you prevent gamers who don't care from buying these games?

Nobody asks to "protect gamers"...

Because you're using fibres laid years ago. Often pulse velocity isn't known to better than one part in 1000.

War games aren't useful for guessing the real course of the war. 'Iraq' was able to prevent a US invasion in pre 2003 wargames.

I once ran multiple bots on Ancient Anguish that would do simple quests for cash and follow other player to steal their gear if they dropped anything. The bots would then find my main and hand everything over.

The mods teleported my chars into a dungeon and virtually tortured them while trying to get me to admit one person was behind the lot.
