Maybe we should close a few golf courses.


People have long overlooked the fact that for growing grass at any scale in the desert, there is a little-known technical concept that comes into play, known as "amusing, but a complete waste".

How closely that concept applies to data centers could be at the heart of a number of disagreements surrounding their proliferation.


Roebourne Golf Course easily uses less water than any data centre.
